Bull – Contained Power Sculpted by Pascal Chesneau

With “Bull”, Pascal Chesneau delivers a raw, almost elemental sculpture — a concentrated force frozen in metal. This striking animal artwork, made from recycled metal, embodies strength, resilience, and primal tension. The bull, arched and low to the ground, head angled to charge, becomes an ancestral symbol — evoking virility, endurance, and silent defiance.

As always in Chesneau’s work, the material is pierced, torn, fragmented, yet the presence is undeniable. This paradox defines his art: using voids to intensify form. The oxidized, cratered surface gives the bull a volcanic texture, as if born from fire and forged by time. You can sense in every rough edge the memory of the material, its past, its transformation.

The posture is taut and coiled. Muscular legs anchor the body with weight and intention. The massive neck curves downward, the horns thrust forward — every gesture in this sculpture speaks of movement on the brink of eruption. A minimalist base grounds this storm of energy, keeping the beast just within the frame.

This bull is more than an animal figure — it is a silent statement, an ode to the earth, the body, and the wild memory we carry. By using discarded metal, Chesneau adds a layer of meaning: rebirth. This is not a noble material by origin, but one reclaimed, reinvented, elevated through artistic will.

With dimensions of 31 x 62 x 18 cm, this sculpture fits naturally into a contemporary interior, a gallery, or a wildlife art collection. It speaks to those who seek presence, meaning, and raw emotional impact in the objects they collect.

With “Bull”, Pascal Chesneau once again shows his mastery of sculpting the essential. He does not portray the animal — he summons its strength, its memory, its ancestral energy.
