Hare – The Burst of Life Captured by Pascal Chesneau

With "Hare", Pascal Chesneau delivers a remarkable wildlife sculpture where speed, grace, and raw material merge in a single impulse. This hare, caught mid-stride, skimming the earth, becomes a powerful metaphor for freedom and weightlessness. Far from static realism, the artist offers a nearly spiritual vision of the animal, seized in its purest energy.

Crafted from recycled metal, true to the artist’s ecological commitment, this piece invokes nature with both humility and nobility. Every metal shard, every rough weld, every gap in the structure contributes to the sense of motion. The hare’s body seems dissolved by velocity: the sculpture expresses both shape and breath, volume and disappearance.

Its slender limbs stretch forward and backward in a diagonal burst, drawing the eye across the composition. The elongated, upright ears heighten the impression of tension and alertness. The oxidized, timeworn surface gives the work an organic and elemental presence, as if born of wind and earth.

Chesneau has a unique gift: he sculpts through suggestion, letting voids speak as loudly as mass. The viewer’s gaze completes the form, engaging in a perceptual dialogue. One doesn’t simply observe a hare — one perceives the very idea of motion, its spirit and rhythm.

The minimalist dark metal base allows the piece to float, almost defy gravity. It’s a sculpture that breathes, that pulses. Ideal for collectors of contemporary wildlife art, "Hare" will appeal to those drawn to meaning, movement, and the raw poetry of recycled material.

With dimensions of 44 x 49 x 30 cm, this sculpture integrates beautifully into private collections, contemporary interiors, or curated gallery spaces. It captures attention without overpowering a room, serving as a visual and emotional focal point.

In the lineage of his signature pieces, Pascal Chesneau once again proves his mastery of lightweight, expressive sculpture, where discarded materials find new life and resonance. Through this hare, the artist questions our relationship to the living world, to the speed of modern life, and to the beauty of the ephemeral.
