TRIGLIA – " Acambado ": A Totemic Face in a Swirl of Symbols

With " Acambado ", artist TRIGLIA presents a singular piece at the crossroads of mask, totem, and visual storytelling. This 73 x 60 cm painting, created using acrylic on foam board mounted on canvas, unfolds a dense composition filled with faces, tribal motifs, and stylized creatures, all surrounded by a dynamic black-and-white border.

At the center, a large face dominates the scene, constructed from two striking blue eyes, a sharp triangular nose, and a bold red mouth reminiscent of African masks or pre-Columbian effigies. But on closer inspection, this face is a façade—built from a mosaic of smaller figures, a tapestry of life and color, nested one within the other.
