Born into a family where studying medicine was the order of the day, Annick Bouvattier obtained her scientific Baccalaureate and turned away from this predestined path to take a more arti

stic approach: fashion design. Her creations, presented in Paris and at the Villa Medici in Rome, were a great success with professionals and were the subject of numerous articles in the specialist press. Annick refined her expectations and decided to work as a costume designer at the Cinecittà studios in Rome. From her time in Italy, she acquired a taste for warm, sensual, deep colours: sunny ochres, muted reds, intense blues and deep greens.
At the beginning of 1990, she devoted herself exclusively to painting, a sensibility she had discovered at a very young age with her father, himself an art lover. After two years of self-taught research, from 1992 to 1996 she became a pupil of Pierre Ramel, a disciple and massier of Mac'Avoy, who taught her the technique of oil painting with a knife, which she works on smoothly, with no thickness of matter, and all transparency.
Annick Bouvattier is sensitive to femininity, and she tells us about women in their everyday lives without any false modesty. Scenes of life, close-ups, depict a liberated woman indifferent to the outside world.
Annick Bouvattier has exhibited in Paris, Cannes, Brussels and New York.
