With Anima Corpus I, Pascal Borghi unveils a sculpture where matter seems to breathe—each fragment carries the imprint of an inner life. Made of raw stoneware and punctuated with naturalistic elements, this work explores the convergence of physical body (corpus) and soul (anima), of weight and lightness, of presence and transcendence.

The vertical form rises like a totem—tense, alive. The rough-textured stoneware reveals layers of mineral flesh, almost fossil-like, where every crack becomes a sign of life. This sculpture feels both ancient and fiercely contemporary—a body that does not simply represent, but embodies memory, mark, and trace.
